Cascade's Internal Asset Navigator or "IAN"
This lesson covers how to create links to assets using Cascades' Internal Asset Navigator (IAN). Insert Link windows can be found in several modules when editing pages and are covered in subsequent lessons. This lesson shows how to select assets and add internal links from the point where the Insert Link Window is open
If you have already completed Cascade training and you have a live asset with which to work, please follow along using your real asset. If you are using this guide for practice, please always use the _playground site. Yes, it starts with an underscore. Recent vs. Browse Tabs
IAN has two main tabs; Recent and Browse. Using the search box when Recent is selected will only display results from the assets you have recently interacted with. If you are not seeing what you are looking for, try the Browse tab instead.

Asset Info
To select an asset in IAN, click the selection circle to the left of it. A blue dot will appear in it once it is selected. The ap-style.pdf file is selected here because the example is modifying a link that already existed. When an asset is selected, information about the asset will display beneath it.

Browse Tab
If the asset you are looking for is not conveniently one you have interacted with recently, click the Browse tab to navigate to any asset in Cascade.

Browse is Like the Explorer
Here, the _playground site is selected under the Browse tab, the same as it is in the Site Selector. All the assets on the right are the same ones as those on the left. If you wanted to search for an asset in a different site, select that site from IAN's site selector, using it exactly as you would from the Site Selection lesson.

Moving Between Assets
Clicking a folder's selection circle will select that folder as the asset you want to link to (if applicable). Click the folder itself (“images” in this example) to move into that folder’s contents. Once inside a folder, you can click one of the breadcrumb links to move back outside of the folder.

Select Your Asset
Click folders to enter them and view their contents. Once you have located the asset you want to select, click that asset's selection circle to place a blue dot in it.

Moving Between Pages
When viewing assets in IAN, sometimes there are more assets than can be displayed on a single page. Scroll to the bottom and click the next page arrow or the page number you want to jump to.

Choose Button
Once you have selected the asset you want, click the Choose button. The selected asset's title will display in the Link Source button field.
