How to Upload Documents into Cascade
Documents and images must be uploaded into Cascade before they can be used on a page. That means uploading files is generally done before editing a page. This is also why every site in Cascade has a documents folder and an images folder. They are repositories that do not have index pages. All of your documents and images should go in these folders or in one of their sub-folders rather than in your page folders.
If you have already completed Cascade training and you have a live asset with which to work, please follow along using your real asset. If you are using this guide for practice, please always use the _playground site. Yes, it starts with an underscore. It is a test site specifically meant for practicing.
Follow these steps to learn how to upload documents into Cascade.Step 1
Website Folders in Documents Folder
After selecting the _playground site, select the folder where you want the document to be added. In this example, we click on the documents folder to expand it, then select the websites folder inside of the documents folder.

Step 3

Step 4
Attach File
Unlike creating a folder, page, or other asset, when uploading, always attach the file before naming the asset. Click the attachment field that reads, "Drop a file here or choose one from your computer." Navigate your Explorer or Finder window to find the file on your computer, then attach it. Once attached, the field will read, "Received file..." and show the name of the attached file.
Step 5
File Name
The File Name will automatically inherit the file's name. Make sure the asset's name follows correct naming conventions. If it does not, you can change the File Name here and now. Remember to preserve the dot file suffix.
